Basic Professional Certificate in Social Work (SPAKS)

The SPAKS Programme is an initiative established to provide training opportunities for social workers in the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), as well as to prepare them to meet the registration requirements as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and Registered Associate Social Worker (RASW).The programme is administered by the Institute of Social Malaysia (ISM) in collaboration with the School of Applied Psychology, Social Policy and Social Work (SAPSP), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), and the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), commencing in 2023.This comprehensive programme provides added value in terms of knowledge, skills, and professional competencies in the field of social work for officers under the Social Services Scheme (S) across all grades within JKM, as well as departments and agencies under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
